SUPER KOOPER'S STORY
Super Kooper, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization set up to help Kooper Hernandez fight the battle of Osteosarcoma bone cancer. In June 2015, 5 year old Kooper fell and broke his left leg. While in the hospital, scans and x-rays revealed that his leg was inundated with cancer. Kooper immediately started a tough regime of chemotherapy and in September 2015, he had his left leg amputated at the hip. Just a few days later, Kooper's mom gave birth to his little brother, Kreece. Now with a tribe of three little ones, Kooper and his parents, Jon and Mindee, had to figure out how to balance life, as "normally" as possible. Kooper and his family traveled back and forth between Dell Children's Hospital in Austin, TX and Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, TX for countless appointments. Through it all, Kooper and his family have maintained a positive attitude, a resilient spirit, and a strong faith in God. With the support of family and friends, and a strength beyond measure, Kooper had his last round of chemo in February 2016. Though he is now cancer "free," he and his family will continue to have appointments, scans, rehab, and other medical costs. This non-profit was started to help ease some of these tolls, as well as help other families and children fighting childhood cancer.
Through the outpouring love and support from our community, family, and friends, Super Kooper, Inc. has been able to raise donations to be able to help other children fighting childhood cancer. We give back in various ways including monetary donations to families in need, goodie bags for kids starting their fight at Dell Children's Hospital, and showing thanks to the nurses and staff that take such good care of all our little heroes.
